I also read this one a while ago: http://www.diy-audio.narod.ru/litr/WooferSpeed.pdf which seems to point towards inductance in the voice coil as a factor.Deepthoughthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04929770196858183164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8689487740107692135.post-54788818584536403642014-05-12T22:02:58.462-07:002014-05-12T22:02:58.462-07:00Transient response is an interesting concept when ...Transient response is an interesting concept when it comes to subwoofers. Take a look at my recent article here on StereoNET to see what I mean.

http://www.stereo.net.au/articles/the-fast-bass-experiment-are-heavy-woofers-slow/

I do have experience with them but to be honest I haven't focused too much on comparing to a ported box. Their behaviour is well understood and there are already a good number of them measured and published online. You can consider a passive radiator as being similar to a very large port.Paul Spencerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07514836858344391753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8689487740107692135.post-52797917307688492022014-05-12T19:14:30.082-07:002014-05-12T19:14:30.082-07:00Paul, do you have any direct experience with Passi...Paul, do you have any direct experience with Passive Radiators and have you done any research into ringing, transient effects of them? Just wondering!Deepthoughthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04929770196858183164noreply@blogger.com
