When it comes to bass traps, density matters. Ethan Winer did a test of various trap materials to find out how they compare.
This shows some highlights, with low density 24 kg/m3 vs high density 96 kg/m3.

For better results, make SuperChunks and then 703 is better than 705. The higher density performs better with a gap though.
ReplyDeleteMost of the benefit is achieved in the outer skin. Filling in the entire corner means density is less critical, however a lot more material is used for a tiny improvement, hence it isn't very cost effective.
